It may not be as simple to open as the secret conversation folder. Follow the below steps to decrypt a secret conversation on Facebook Messenger:
From the list of hidden messages, you can click on any messages and decide whether to reply or delete the message. If you click on Reply, you will open a conversation section; if you choose Delete, you will remove the message requests from the list.
To view the hidden messages on Facebook messenger on your Android device, click on "You May Know" to see different message requests or "Spam" to see the messages labeled as spam. You can choose to open a conversation or delete the messages according to your preference.
To delete Facebook messages in a browser, select Messenger and choose See all in Messenger. Select a message and hover the cursor over it > select More (three dots) > Remove. In the app, tap and hold a message > Remove.
While you can't recover deleted Facebook Messenger messages, you can try some workarounds. To delete all secret conversations, tap the profile icon, select Secret Conversations and choose Delete Secret Conversations and Delete All. The messages will still be visible on your friend's device.
Whenm Secret Conversations are enabled, both people in the secret conversation have a device key. This can be compared to verify that the messages are end-to-end encrypted. Facebook said that this verification process is optional and the messages will be encrypted whether or not you compare device keys.
One other thing to note is that if someone sends your child something that upsets them, the messages will disappear. Facebook says it can decrypt communications (up to 30 of the most recent messages in a Secret Conversation) to check the content if you contact its Help Team to report them.
